INVU - A very hopeful step in addressing the Maternal Care Crisis in America

Craig Allison, CMO |

After reading the March of Dimes report, Nowhere to Go: Maternity Care Deserts in the US, I was surprised to discover the low level of access to birthing hospitals, birth centers or even obstetric providers for 35% of counties (1,104) and potentially impacting over 2.3 million women in America.  This translates into reduced prenatal care, poorer health for the mother during pregnancy and the potential for higher rates of preterm birth.

Clearly the system needs to change, and at Nuvo, we have developed a remote maternal monitoring system that can be an important component of the overall solution.  This is especially true for high-risk pregnancies.

INVU was invented to transform pregnancy care and to solve these types of issues. This innovation motivated me to join the Nuvo team. INVU is designed to address some of the biggest challenges in pregnancy care today, by enabling equitable access to care, improving preventative care delivery, and reducing high individual and system-level costs.

As a result, this combination of clinical telehealth with an exciting FDA-cleared remote monitoring platform provides a one-of-a-kind solution for the next generation of pregnancy care.  It addresses critical gaps while maintaining supportive levels of medical care, allowing patients access when & where they need it.
